What's your favorite major league baseball team

All-Star Game player selection possible at MLB.com

On July 12th, the annual MLB All-Star Game will take place at the Arizona Diamondbacks stadium, more precisely at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Put your all-star team together

The fans can vote for their favorites this year as usual, you can choose an entire team for one or more players from your favorite team or even for both leagues. Fans here in Germany can also vote. So go ahead, follow the link because here you go to the 2011 All-Star Game Player Selection on MLB.com

As a member of the Baseball Blogger Alliance, I am obliged to participate in at least one of four upcoming elections each year. At the beginning of the year we had already cast a ballot for the Hall of Fame admission this year, but we think it's a great thing to vote for this year's All Star Team.

The result of the election is not insignificant, because the winner of the game has secured home rights for his league in the upcoming World Series in autumn. It is also a huge spectacle with the home run derby and a meeting of the creme de la creme from both leagues.

So below is my lineup for the Star (t) line-up of both teams:

American League:

  • 1B - Konerko, Paul (Chicago White Sox)
  • 2B - Cano, Robinson (New York Yankees)
  • SS - Cabrera, Asdrubal (Cleveland Indians)
  • 3B - Rodriguez, Alex (New York Yankees)
  • C - Avila, Alex (Detroit Tigers)
  • DH - Ortiz, David (Boston Red Sox)
  • OV - Bautista, Jose (Totonto Blue Jays
  • OV - Granderson, Curtis (New York Yankees)
  • OV - Hamilton, Josh (Texas Rangers)

National League:

  • 1B - Fielder, Prince (Milwaukee Brewers)
  • 2B - Weeks, Rickie (Milwaukee Brewers)
  • SS - Reyes, Jose (New York Mets)
  • 3B - Jones, Chipper (Atlanta Braves)
  • C - Molina, Yadier (St. Louis Cardinals)
  • OV - Ethier, Andre (Los Angeles Dodgers)
  • OV - Holliday, Matt (Los Angeles Dodgers)
  • OV - Kemp, Matt (St. Louis Cardinals)

By the way, the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game will both be televised live on ESPN America. A good opportunity to invite a few friends over and have a party. You should order your favorite MLB team caps in good time at Dugout24.
